The backlash from Adam Lambert's performance at last Sunday's American Music Awards is still on, and the
American Idol runner-up isn't giving any apologies. But,
in an interview with CBS' The Early Show, Adam admitted that he was carried away with his sexually-charged performance, which featured dancers in bondage, simulated oral sex, and the performer kissing a male keyboard player.
"I admit I did get carried away, but I don't see anything wrong with it," he said. "I do see how people got offended and that was not my intention. My intention was to interpret the lyrics of my song and have a good time with it."

The reception to Adam Lambert’s performance Sunday on the American Music Awards show was a mixed bag with supporters on one side and the disappointed on the other. ABC has apparently decided it’s on the disappointed side and has canceled Lambert’s planned appearance and performance originally scheduled for Wednesday, November 23rd on Good Morning America:
An ABC News spokesperson tells Access [Hollywood], “Given his controversial live performance on the AMAs we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning.”
ABC received around 1,500 negative comments regarding Adam’s AMAs performance, which is considered “moderate.”

Fox has released its midseason schedule, announcing return dates for
American Idol and
24, and the series finale of
Dollhouse, as well as return dates for
Fringe and
Glee.
American Idol returns for its ninth season with a two-night premiere on Tuesday, January 12, from 8pm-10pm. A second show airs the following day, January 13, from 8pm-9pm.
Idol will then air every Tuesday, also from 8pm.

A few things discussed after last night's American Music Awards: Taylor Swift winning everything, Lady Gaga getting shut out by otherwise literally obscure band Gloriana, and of course, Adam Lambert's first major performance. And that, as expected, as raised eyebrows--his performance of his first single, "For Your Entertainment", saw him simulate oral sex with a back-up dancer, plant a kiss on a male keyboard player, and flash the finger at the audience. And folks in the West Coast didn't even get to see the more controversial part: Adam rubbing a male dancer's face in his crotch.
Now, ABC, which aired the awards ceremony last night,
confirmed that it received at least 1,500 complaints about the
American Idol runner-up's performance. Dick Clark Productions, the producers behind the event, also added that they were unaware of what Adam planned basing on rehearsals. "We did not expect the impromptu moments," a spokesperson said.
