Well there you have it: This. Is.
American.
Idol.
In a bloated, online streamed event, Ryan Seacrest officially announced what we already knew weeks ago. Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez will join Randy Jackson as the official judges for the tenth season of
Idol.
Anyone who followed the
Idol judges drama this past off season were pretty sure that Tyler and Lopez would be the new judges. I guess the big surprise is that they are going back to the three judge format, which really worked out the best.
Adam Lambert is back in the headlines and not for the best of reasons today after a police report was filed against him for alleged battery. Unfortunately for Adam it was against a photographer who was surrounded by other photographers, all of whom produced much photographic evidence. Photographically, of course.
Law enforcement sources tell us the paparazzo seen grappling with Lambert on the beach yesterday walked into a Miami Beach police station around 10:30 PM last night and filed a report … accusing the singer of misdemeanor battery.
According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, the victim claims Adam grabbed his backpack “where the camera was placed” … and “wrestled [the photog] to the ground forcefully.”
Lambert tweeted, “Battery? Nope. I attempted to grab a camera, no punches were thrown and no one was on the ground…. It was literally harmless. If embarrassment is a crime- thats all I’m guilty of. “
Luckily it sounds like Adam Lambert should be in the clear on this one, but we’ll have to see what the “victim” decides to do about it. WWTDD has a few photos of the incident including some mooning Lambert’s friends did for the paparazzi.
