We’ve finally received the American Idol auditions details for 2012 including all the release forms for registration, audition requirements, and the audition FAQs. Lots of really important information included in these documents so if you’re serious about going to one of the seven audition events for season 11 to try out then you need to thoroughly read these.

    American Idol 2012 Audition documents:

Here are a few of the most important highlights from the requirements document pertaining to age and citizenship questions:

You must be able to prove at the time of your registration and audition that:

    • You are a legal U.S. citizen or a permanent U.S. resident who is eligible to work full-time in the United States
    • You are 15 to 28 years old on June 26, 2011 (which means you must be born on or between June 27, 1982 and June 26, 1996). If you were born before or after this window, you are not eligible to participate this season.

We’ve had a lot of questions from those who are too young asking if it’s okay if they still come out and audition for American Idol 2012. Hopefully that age requirement makes it completely clear for those wondering.

One interesting thing to note is the FAQ document’s reference to a Los Angeles audition event having a shortened registration window. The document then lists the seven audition locations and none of them are Los Angeles. So that’s either a left over copy&paste error from last year’s document or an LA event has been planned but not announced or it was dropped from their list. Weird.

Let us know if you’re going to any of the auditions. We’d love to see pics or hear reports on how your try out went. Best of luck to everyone who goes!

Finally! With just ten days until the first of the American Idol 2012 auditions FOX has decided to release the location details and registration information for each of the previously listed cities plus a date for the Denver auditions.

Check out the full list of American Idol 2012 audition dates and locations.

We now know each of the events’ locations plus when you’ll be able to start registering for the auditions themselves. You’ll have to show up 1-2 days ahead of the audition day to fill out the forms and then come back in a day or two for the audition itself. Still no word on the particular forms you’ll need to fill out for registration so maybe you’ll just want to bring a pen and something to write on.

A much better episode last night on American Idol 2011.  I don’t know if the talent in Los Angeles was just that terrible or the producers got a clue and quit giving us the lame stupid auditions we don’t care anything about.  There were a few standouts I think have a good chance of making it pretty far in the competition.

My favorite audition of the night was James Durbin who is raising a family and overcoming tourettes syndrome.  You would never from his voice that he had any kind of neurological condition.  I predict we will see in the top 5.  I was pleasantly surprised by Clint Jun Gamboa who sang “Billionaire”.  I honestly thought we were about to hear a joke audition.  We get another sad story with Julie Zorilla from Columbia.   Her parents left when she was 8 because of the guerilla warfare and made a better life for her here.  She sings a good rendition of “Summertime” and easily makes it through to Hollywood.

I didn’t understand why squeeky voiced Emily Reed made it through even though when she played the guitar at the end it was much better than her actual audition.  The American Idol judges need to get tough!  Let’s hope that happens tonight in Hollywood!
