Based on your votes in our Top 8 performance poll it looks like the trailing contenders for tonight’s elimination are Paul at the bottom with Jacob and Haley not far behind. Could these three make up tonight’s Bottom 3? I wouldn’t be surprised, but I think we’re more likely to see Stefano swap places with Haley.

Paul becomes the second male voted out, but the first to be eliminated (Casey was saved) from the American Idol finalists this season. He might not have been the overall best this season, but he was my favorite performer from the bunch.

Are we about to see another elimination shocker tonight on American Idol 2011? After last night’s Top 8 performances I wouldn’t consider anyone’s elimination to be terribly shocking, though I could pick a few which would be pleasing.
I know we want to see the aspiring Hopefuls to take the reins but as Branden noted earlier most of those song choices were turrr-ible. Even worse though was the complete lack of judging except for their momentary critique of Haley Reinhart before slipping back in to their “you’re the best thing evah!” coma of commentary.
On the plus side, tonight’s results show will not only reveal who made it to the season’s Top 7 but will also feature performances by Rihanna and the original American Idol, Kelly Clarkson. Clarkson will be back on the Idol stage to duet “Don’t You Wanna Stay” with Jason Aldean.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! That was a shocker indeed. I expected to see a Pia and Scotty finale this season. What happened out there in Idol Voting Land?? So yet again, another female singer eliminated. Only girls have been sent home since the Top 13 was announced. Looks more and more like another all male finale show.
