Is anyone else annoyed by Siobhan Magnus' scream on American Idol season 9?
She completely relys on that scream, and it’s getting annoying, without the scream she really wouldn’t be that good.

Yeah her scream is annoying. And yeah I do notice her normal singing voice isn’t as good as a lot of people think. I reckon she’s just overrated.

I happened to turn on my TV in the middle of her scream and I think I am likely to be deaf for life. FOX owes me for a bottle of Tylenol and two bottles of Jim Beam. That isn’t singing that is torture.
I loved it in "House of the Rising sun" and "Paint it Black" because it fit. The arrangements were theatrical and kind of dark, so made the songs kind of Bjork-like. I really liked those 2 performances. The past 2 weeks,though,I don’t think I would’ve really cared for her performances with or without the scream,though. Last week the scream just didn’t fit in the song at all and this week I don’t feel that she did really scream,it came off more as just belting like Christina Aguilera,or whatever, but still I just didn’t really care for the song for her. It’s a tough one with her,though,because as much as I love her scream, hearing it all the time does kind of take away some of the magic so it’s not as exciting as it was the first time we heard it. But,at the same time, if she takes out the scream, it would feel like something’s missing. Plus, that’s part of who she is as an artist, so if she takes it out (like Simon wants her to), she’ll be changing who she is and conforming (like he doesn’t want Crystal to do). So I don’t know. I don’t want her to change who she is and conform, but I don’t want her to become boring and predictable (which she actually is to me too,honestly,though 2 weeks ago I wanted her to win). I think she could take some pointers from Adam last year,though. Even he didn’t scream ALL the time. When everyone started thinking he was a "one-note wonder", he turned around and gave us some really subdued,beautiful performances like "Tracks of my Tears" and "Mad World" and showed that he can actually really sing. So that’s what I think Siobhan should do. I think she should go a few weeks without the scream; pick nice songs, sing them well and show that she doesn’t need the scream. Then if she decides to sneak a scream in later on,it’ll be exciting again and the judges and America will know that her scream isn’t the main ingedient,but just something she sprinkles on for flavor. She really has to do something,though, because even her biggest fans (like me) are starting to get a bit bored with her. I really don’t want her to go home yet, but to avoid that, she has to kind of step it up and give us something different. I really hope she brings it next week.

Yes and her name is kind of annoying too. Of course, that is also another factor that makes her unique and not just another face in the crowd. I hope she just sticks with her talent and doesn’t do that scream too much. It is over kill!
