Should adam lambert be on american idol?
Adam lambert spent 6 months with the broadway musical Wicked,and he has been in bands. Isnt american idol for unknown people?

Adam deserves every right to be on American Idol as anybody else. It doesn’t matter what he did in the past, it just matters that he does NOT have a record label yet. If you don’t have a record label, you can be on American Idol. And I think he is going to win this season. He is the best out of everybody who sang on this season. Much more talented than Kris by lightyears! It’s ridiculous how such fools could vote for Kris who can’t sing a single note as well and as unique as Adam. People just stray away from the different people, the unique people. They tend towards the people who are liek them. But we should embrace eahc others’ differences. Adam deserves to win American Idol just as much as Jordin Sparks. And that is 100%.

If it were, than many past contestants wouldn’t have been allowed to be on either.
The ONLY stipulation that would keep someone from being a contestant on AI is if they have a CURRENT recording contract with a recording label….
Otherwise…anyone can give it their best shot……

Season 7 contestant Carly Smithson has stirred up controversy due to a prior major label record deal she had with MCA Records. It had been reported that MCA spent over 2 million dollars promoting Smithson’s previous album "Ultimate High", which she made under the name Carly Hennessy,her maiden name . The album sold 378 copies, but is now available on iTunes. To further complicate things, Randy Jackson worked for MCA during the same period of time that Smithson was signed, and was part of the team that signed her to MCA. The show made no mention of this deal. In addition, contestants Michael Johns and Kristy Lee Cook were also represented by a major record label at one time and have made albums.
Yes, he deserves to be there just like all of the other contestants. He has talent. Get over it and stop with the lame excuses.

I have no problem with him being ON Idol. I just cant understand why people would vote for him. He can only sing one genre of music and screeches high notes to try to impress people into thinking he has talent.
Kris sings every genre with a smooth tender voice that follows the melody of the song. Plus he plays guitar and piano!

david cook already has 3 cds, carly smithson and brooke white both had cds, david archuleta had been on singing shows….so why should they be allowed to compete and adam shouldnt?! ur just looking for an excuse to come up with as to why he shouldnt be there, ugh. you danny fans are so immature
No, it’s not. Don’t be jealous because Adam Lambert has talent and experience. He wants to go to broadway to making records and that is improving his career. He has amazing talent and is taking what he learned from broadway shows and moving it up a few notches to a major career. What’s so wrong with that? It’s not like he already has a record. People are just pissed off because he has so much talent. And in my eyes he is the next American Idol because he worked very hard and I feel much harder then the others and really showed every week that he really wanted this and I think he by far has earned it. And kris has also been in bands but you don’t see people complaining about that. I can’t even believe that Kris even made it to the top 2 because until he did I didn’t even remember him. That’s how forgetful his performances were to me. I think it should of been Adam and Danny. Sorry if this isn’t what you wanted to hear but it is what it is and Adam Rules.
um no…. many of the contestants their have down musicals and had training. do you think they would have gotten far. and please stop hating on adam. he is just sooo damn sexy.

Yeah, he should be there. Everybody is all caught up in the fact that he’s done musicals. Well, he wants a recording career, and he deserves one, so yeah. So hopefully he will win so that for once on that show the real deserving person with the most vocal talent will actualy win. sorry to kris, but hes just not good enough
It’s for individuals who are talented singers and don’t have recording contract. Adam’s been working as an entertainer, yes, he’s got the experience but he doesn’t have a recording contract.
I agree with almost everyone else saying he still deserves to be on Idol.
