Ellen being on Idol is STUPID.
She knows nothing about the music industry. She likes music. Wow. I like music. Can I be on the panel?
Also, she is known for being nice and funny so her comment will always be worthless because she not going to want to ruin that. She’ll always try and be nice and comment on appearance and when someone sucks, she won’t be mean.
Stupid.
Love Ellen but adding her to this show makes no sense.

I never really liked American Idol anyway. They could replace Simon with Stewie from Family Guy for all I care.
I’m very excited, I love Ellen!! I had stopped watching the show regularly for the couple of seasons because it had got so boring and repetitive.. with Ellen being the new judge I’m definitely going to go back to watching every week. I admit that she doesn’t really have the professional background to judge peoples’ musical abilties, but she will liven up the show tremendously and definitely bring up ratings. Also, she said she’s not going to necessarily judge people on their musical abililtes – just how she would see them as a recording artist and be able to relate to them that way.
I love american idol , I have done since it began . I loved paula but I love ellen too , I think Ellen would be a great judge on there , Ellen Rules <3
I don’t like it at all. She has no musical background. I won’t watch the show just like I previously didn’t before. Paula should not have left, and they shouldn’t have gotten a new judge last year.
I think the original line-up with Randy, Paula, and Simon was the best and can never be topped.

Idol was my #1 fav show! no offense to ellen, but seriously why does her opinion matter? she is not a singer nor has she been in the industry like all the other judges. I think they picked her because paula was funny & so is ellen, but c’mon! there are better candidates than ellen!! So yeah paula was loopy sometimes, but she was part of the foundation of the show, and she has a good chemistry w/simon which made the show even more fun to watch.
I don’t think I will ever watch idol again……
