What to sing for American Idol Audition?
I am thinking about auditioning for american idol this weekend, and I was just wanting some suggestions for what I should sing. I am a 21 year old female, I usually sing Opera but that obviously won’t work for this audition. I have a very extensive range, but prefer to sing in the middle/high part of my voice. Nothing that requires a lot of growling/throaty singing please. Thanks for any suggestions!

Anything , besides opera, that will show off your skill and style. Something catchy and appealing. Go on a music hunt. Make sure it is something you like. Then you will put feeling into it…..

in my opinion you should sing something to talk about i love that song and also sanjaya got far from that song so yeah
Just remember you have but a moment to make an impression. They’ve been listening to a lot of people up to the point where they hear you, so find something that has an immediate impact with notes you can hit strongly.
Actually, what would really help you is a song that you completely identify with, a story you yourself would tell. What won the competition for Jordin in the end was the fact that she completely understood the last song she sung, where Blake didn’t, really. They encounter a lot of people who can flat out sing, but the key to surviving and winning the competition is choosing the right song that you can personally express to the listener.
